Every baby grows differently. There are some signs, which are common to most babies, if they are growing normally. If your baby does not suffer from any disease, then he will show these signs. For example, he will be comfortable in your arms, when you pick him. He sleep well, does not wake in between sleep. Normal babies, shows these signs. But, abnormal babies, who suffer from any congenital disease or who have acquired any disease after birth, does not show all of these signs.
8 Signs that indicate that your baby is growing normally-
1) Baby sleep well-
Newborn baby sleep for the 16-18 hours in 24 hours. If your newborn baby sleep for that much hours, then he is growing perfectly. But, if he sleeps less than that much hours, then he is not growing perfectly. As your newborn baby grows, his sleeping pattern change.

- From 4th month, your baby will develop regular sleeping pattern. Newborn baby, take breastfeed and sleep for 2 hours, after breastfeed. That is, why they sleep for 16-18 hours.
- Whereas, as baby grows, his total sleeping hours starts decreasing, below 16-18 hours. He does not breastfeed and sleep. He breastfeed, have some waking time and after that he sleeps. Slowly, with time as baby grows, starts sleeping more at night, than in day.
2) Baby poo and urinates, 8-10 times in a day-
If your baby poo and urinates, regularly for 8-10 times, then baby is growing perfectly. That means, his digestive and urinary system is working properly. Whereas, if your baby urinates and poos less, that indicates some problem. When baby poos and urinates less, then he cries too much.
3) Baby is comfortable in your arms-
If you pick your baby and he does not cry, that means baby is happy. But, if he cries, even after picking in arms then that is wrong.

That means, he is not comfortable in your arms. Either you didn’t hold him properly or there is some problem inside. For example, baby may have colic.
4) Baby smiles back, when older than 1 month-
Newborn baby smiles only in sleep or when they pass gas. Whereas, as your baby grows older than 1 month, then he will smile back, when you make funny faces, while playing with him.
5) Baby responds to sound, after 1 month-
Newborn babies does not respond to sound as much. This is because their hearing capacity is not that sharp. Whereas, when your baby grows 1 month older, then he will start responding to familiar sounds and soothing music.
6) Baby gets head control around 3 months-
Newborn babies are not able to hold their head, as their muscles are not that much developed.

When baby grows, around 3 month, he starts getting head control. This is because as baby grows, his muscles also grows stronger, which are able to hold head firmly.
7) Baby look straight at you, when breastfeeding, in earlier months-
Newborn baby looks at you, when you are breastfeeding him. But, he does not smile back. He just gazes at you.
8) Baby talk to you, through his own “coo” words, around 4 month-
Newborn baby does not talk. But, as your baby grows older than 4 months, then he starts making voices like “coo” or gurgles. If you make these voices, when you are talking to him, then he responds back with that “coo” word and smile back.
